Vase with gold plated silverplate mount by Thorvald Bindesbøll
This important vase with a gold plated silverplate mount was designed by Thorvald Bindesbøll (1846-1908) and executed by Herman A. Kähler, Denmark, around 1900.
The neck has repoussé ornaments in the Scandinavian arts and crafts style (skønvirke) and is marked TB.
The body has cow-horn applied bold and saturated blue and brown enamels.
The case is incised with the ‘HAK’ monogram.

This smaller earthenware vase was executed by Herman A. Kähler, Denmark, ca. in the 1940s. It is elegantly decorated with outlined green leaves on white using the cow-horn technique.
