    Lady's writing desk in Cuban mahogany by Ole Wanscher

    This smaller writing desk was designed ca. 1950 by Danish architect Ole Wanscher (1903-1985). The frame is of Cuban mahogany and it has profiled tapered legs. There are two drawers on the front, with the inside made of maple. The handles and fittings are of brass. It was executed by Fritz Hansen, Denmark. The model number is 1784. One original brass key is included. One drawer stamped by maker FH (Fritz Hansen) and no. 2430. The desk is mentioned and pictured on page 30 of Fritz Hansens Eftf. Catalog No. 5101 from 1951. See black and white photo.

    This unique armchair was designed and executed in 1948 by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) and master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen (1886-1961). It has a cherry wood frame and is upholstered with red Niger leather. Provenance: Architect Tang Ørnebjerg. The chair was made by special order for his apartment in Frederiksberg. It was purchased in 1948 directly from Johannes Hansen in Bredgade, Copenhagen. A sketch drawing of the chair plus the original receipt with Mr. Wegner’s own signature included.     Unique cheery wood and teak writing desk by Hans J. Wegner

    This unique writing desk was designed and executed in 1948 by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) and master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen (1886-1961).

    It has a cherry wood frame with feet of solid teak. The two drawers have brass handles. An original handcrafted brass key is included

    Provenance: Architect Tang Ørnebjerg. The writing desk was made by special order for his apartment in Frederiksberg. It was purchased in 1948 directly from Johannes Hansen in Bredgade, Copenhagen. A sketch drawing of the writing desk plus original receipt with Mr. Wegner’s own signature included. H. 74 cm.     This square table by Danish multi-artist Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006) has a total of no less than 196 handpainted tiles on top. The tabletop frame is made from wenge and the legs are brass. It was designed and executed in 1960 for luxury department store Illums Bolighus. Bjørn Wiinblad was one of Danmark’s the most versatile and successful artist ever. He applied his creativity to ever so many materials - ceramics, glass, porcelain, paper, and when creating furniture often added precious woods and metals. The table is signed by Wiinblad and it has a plaque from Illums Bolighus under tabletop. H. 49 cm. (19,3") W. 73,5 (29”) x 73,5 (29”)
