Unique cherry and rosewood side table by Hans J. Wegner
This unique side table was designed and executed in 1948 by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) and master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen (1886-1961).
It has a cherry wood frame. There are three drawers on the front and a shelf below. The feet are of solid rosewood.Provenance: Architect Tang Ørnebjerg. The side table was made by special order for his apartment in Frederiksberg. It was purchased in 1948 directly from Johannes Hansen in Bredgade, Copenhagen. A sketch drawing of the side table plus original receipt with Mr. Wegner’s own signature included. H. 67 cm. (26,4") L. 65 cm. (25,6") W. 45 cm. (17,7")
