    SOLD - Rare edition of the China chair in walnut by Hans J. Wegner

    This rare edition of the "China chair" by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) has a frame of walnut. If has a loose seat cushion upholstered with patinated natural leather, fitted with buttons. The modelnumber is FH4283 and it was designed in 1944. This particular chair was executed in 1977 by Fritz Hansen. It is a limited jubilee edition of 250 chairs. The chair  is no. 164/250. It has the maker's silver plaque in back and maker's label. Exhibited: The model was exhibited at the Spring Exhibition of Danish Arts and Crafts in 1944 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Literature: Noritsugu Oda, "Danish Chairs", 1999. p. 104-105.

    This unique armchair was designed and executed in 1948 by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) and master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen (1886-1961). It has a cherry wood frame and is upholstered with red Niger leather. Provenance: Architect Tang Ørnebjerg. The chair was made by special order for his apartment in Frederiksberg. It was purchased in 1948 directly from Johannes Hansen in Bredgade, Copenhagen. A sketch drawing of the chair plus the original receipt with Mr. Wegner’s own signature included.     This unique writing desk was designed and executed in 1948 by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) and master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen (1886-1961).

    It has a cherry wood frame with feet of solid teak. The two drawers have brass handles. An original handcrafted brass key is included

    Provenance: Architect Tang Ørnebjerg. The writing desk was made by special order for his apartment in Frederiksberg. It was purchased in 1948 directly from Johannes Hansen in Bredgade, Copenhagen. A sketch drawing of the writing desk plus original receipt with Mr. Wegner’s own signature included. H. 74 cm.     This unique side table was designed and executed in 1948 by Danish architect Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) and master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen (1886-1961).

    It has a cherry wood frame. There are three drawers on the front and a shelf below. The feet are of solid rosewood.

    Provenance:  Architect Tang Ørnebjerg. The side table was made by special order for his apartment in Frederiksberg. It was purchased in 1948 directly from Johannes Hansen in Bredgade, Copenhagen. A sketch drawing of the side table plus original receipt with Mr. Wegner’s own signature included. H. 67 cm. (26,4") L. 65 cm. (25,6") W. 45 cm. (17,7")

    Unique double-sided partner's desk by Severin Hansen Junior

    This unique freestanding double-sided partner's desk is made of teak and mounted on tapering legs. Both fronts has three drawers in rail, fitted with keyholes in brass. It was made by special order late in the 1950s. The table was made with an adjustable height. Approximately 10 cm. of the legs can be removed and attached. Two keys are included. H. 73 cm.     Unique red luster glaze vase with cobra snakes by Karl Hansen Reistrup

    This unique ceramic vase with red luster glaze was designed by Karl Hansen Reistrup (1863-1929). It was executed by Herman A. Kähler, Denmark, ca. 1890-1900. The vase is designed with cobra snakes and twisted ornaments in relief. It is incised ‘KHR’ and the ‘HAK’ monogram. The vase is a testament to how Reistrup and Kähler early on benefited from each other's strength – Kähler deft in creating forms and Reistrup’s artistic sensibility for design and decoration.     These lounge chairs have frames of stained beech. The seats are of original woven paper cord. The chairs were manufactured by Fritz Hansens Eftfl. Denmark ca. in the 1930s. They are marked with a brass sign: Fritz Hansens Eftfl. København.
