    This large globular vase of partially glazed stoneware with a burnt yellow glaze was designed and executed ca. 1968 by Nils Kähler (1906-1979). The vase has the ‘HAK’-monogram and ‘Danmark’ incised and is signed in person by Nils Kähler. H. 37 cm. (14,5")

    Unique colourful coffee table with tiles by Johannes Aasbjerg Andersen

    This large colourful coffee table was designed by Johannes Aasbjerg Andersen (1921-2006) in the 1950s. It was executed by Aasbjerg & Ørtoft by special commission in 1965. The table has 24 decorative and unique handmade enamel tiles on top. And the tabletop frame is of solid Brazilian rosewood. The legs are black lacquered steel with solid Brazilian rosewood feet. One of the tiles on top is signed by hand and dated 1965. Aasbjerg & Ørtoft was founded by Johannes and his brother Harry Ørtoft after the Second World War. They were both cabinetmakers but Johannes furthermore the designer and salesman. They started out producing bespoke pieces in the wealthy areas just north of Copenhagen, and later on when business was growing they began exporting to Europe and the USA. The black and white catalogue photos from Danish luxury department store Illum Bolighus showcase the table together with chairs by Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti. H. 48 cm. (19") L. 162 cm.     This exceptional and rare six-arm chandelier has screens of opal glass with pattern and a brass and black lacquered metal frame. It was designed and executed in the 1950s by renowned lighting producer Fog & Mørup, and most likely made by special order and in a very limited edition. morupThe chandelier stamped by Fog & Mørup. Ansgar Fog og Erik Mørup became good friends in 1902 when they both worked in the same a grocery store in Århus, Denmark. Soon after they became business partners. They would start out as wholesales but success turned the company into production as well. For Fog & Mørup it was always about quality. And one of the main reasons they kept producing the best of the time was because they cared for their employees. They were one of the first companies in Denmark to pay their workers dividends. Erik Mørup believed that if the employees knew they would get part of the profit, they would care more about the materials and tools they were working with and ultimately create better quality. This chandelier is a testament to that belief.

    This very rare petite sofa designed by C. H. Brockmann Petersen (1914-1973) has a combined curved teak backrest and armrest. Its seat is in woven cane. The bearing bars underneath are executed in a combination of fair and darker teak. The sofa was designed in 1956. It was executed by cabinetmaker Louis G. Thiersen & Søn, Denmark.
